[Tutorial] Painting vertex colors in Maya for Unreal Engine

Here’s a 20 min video on some tricks I use in Maya to paint vertex colors for use in the material editor. I cover the Paint Vertex Color, Apply Color and the Transfer Attributes tools and use them in conjunction to easily paint vertex color weights to help drive your world position offset/vertex deformation materials.

Really awesome Matt! Thanks for the tips. I’ve been trying to figure some of that stuff out. I have an actor class that becomes “Haunted” and I want to have some visual to indicate that to the player rather than a static color change. I’ll post back when I get it implemented.
