Tutorial: MetaHuman Animation Tutorial Series

Learn how to start creating an animated MetaHuman in this series created by Gabriella Krousaniotakis.

Part one outlines the best practices for building a MetaHuman Identity with the help of MetaHuman Animator. You’ll learn how to prepare the actor, the lighting, and camera setup for high-fidelity 3D animation. We’ll also start covering the process needed to capture the best possible footage for your creation.

Part two will cover how to capture performance footage. Gabriella will get into framing, head-mounted camera workflows, tongue animation, audio, timecode, and more.

Part three covers the entire calibration and confirmation process for stereo HMCs that are feeding into MetaHuman Animator.

And finally, part four will explain how to move from MetaHuman Animator to Unreal Engine when you want to start using your animation data. This lesson includes an introduction to the faceboard, editing curves, and layering animation. It will also cover combining face and body animation.

It’s great that the video shows data can be recorded on a stereo HMC to be imported into UE but the stereo camera calibration document is not clear enough with telling you how to add video’s merely the concept of how the system does. If you could make a video tutorial on how to import Stereo HMC video’s just like these. That would be amazing
