This is a great step towards offering more foundational knowledge and skills to those jumping into game development/design. I hope we see more of these offerings!
I’ve been on quite a kick lately, calling out many creators that allude to teaching how to be a game development after a lovely 5 hour course (spoiler: the video is just a trailer, that 5 hour course is $199, but it’s on sale!)… The biggest thing I finger wag about, is that we don’t see many touching on foundational knowledge, best-practices, or the hot topic lately: optimization.
I believe there are many, many dots like this little gem out there, just no cohesive connections. While many just starting out (either as a hobby or pursuing it seriously as an indie or hoping to land at a studio) might find this type of knowledge “boring”, it’s incredibly important and honestly… learning this boring stuff now, will save them so much pain and wasted cycles later. It’s uh, prerequisite to many, many things.
