The basic rule for photogrammetry is that you need a lot of “features”, which means little irregularities in the surface of an object. For example wood grain or similar. Your object has a very smooth surface, so it’s never going to be ideal…
Thanks for the response, so if i place any other featured subject as shown in image above i will get result with turntable too?
No problem!
What do you mean by “with turntable too”? Have you not read around the forum yet? Turntables are a vital part in photogrammetry and also in RC. There are just cases where it’s more suitable than others. Also, I am pretty certain that the surface of yours (kitchen towel?) provides more features than the cube itself, so if you turn it to its other sides it might not align properly.
thanks ,basically i want to know whether turntable is good for food photogrammetry or not and that not kitchen towel that’s dvd wrapped with napkin XD
Ok, that’s what I meant!
Anyway, a turntable is just a tool for photogrammetry. It’s like asking if it’s ok to use a ladder for painting a house. It’s not the turntable that enables or prohibits a good photogrammetry but how you use it.
I would be more worried about your object - food can be quite challenging, from what I’ve seen and read…
