Hi, I have been working on a novel for over 5 years. I wanted to get a head star in working on studying and analyzing how to make a game in Unreal Engine 5 using primary C++.
A few things I do want to disclose. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science back in 2020 and obtained a Network + Certificate in 2022. A year before I graduated, I began the long year development of a brand-new original IP called ‘The Simidolian’.
I first started my work when I built up a mockup idea of a novella called “Roman: Dead or Alive”. After completing my work, I moved on to the next stage where I would begin the 2-year development of a new novel back in 2019. That novel is called ‘The Awakening’.
My novel originally hit Alpha back in March 2022. During this stage, I would spend over another 2 years editing. Before the dawn of spring and the March against the House of the Mouse, I have edited over 270,000 words. Yet, I plan to do it all over again. While I do have plans to release a novel on the web for free, there are major issues that are holding me back. Unfortunately, this post will not do the justice. I implore you to please read the latest blog post that go over the key features I want to address: Editing the writing techniques – The Simidolian
I chose to be the lead narrator because I understood the history. As a lead narrator, I wish to convey most of my work under a new direction. To ensure that my work never fallen to the wrong hands, all the narrative designs will be developed by hand under my direction. I will not be outsourcing the narrative legwork to anyone on the web.
This novel will NOT have any impact towards the development of the game. One thing I do want to mention is that I do plan to work on a brand-new narrative design set AFTER the event of ‘The Awakening’. The next installment will be kept on a smaller scale.
One thing I do want to inform is that I am familiar with creating software documentation and C++. One course I have not got into is learning to build games in unreal. I am aware that you can easily create a game using blueprint. I don’t want to rely on using blueprints as my main tools. I was interested in combining C++ and blueprints so I can create clever hacky applications. These builds are meant to be done on an academic level. Do not represent as a commercial product.
For example, I want to create an application where I want the game to keep track of the amount of ammo the player has for each magazine. Another instance I might try is to create an alert stage where the AI will only be prompted to attack once the alert meter reaches 100 percent. These are some of the small samples of what I want to create on the top of my head.
My intention here is to hire volunteer teams so I can experiment and prototype two projects. One project I want to work on is a hardcore First Person Shooter. Another Project is a First person ‘stealth’ game. I don’t want to get into detail on what these two projects are, I’ll break it down later. For the sake of these two projects, I want to keep the workflow relatively small. I only want to use royalty free assets to avoid legal issues.
If I were meant to be the Hiring Manager, which roles would I need to create simple ‘throwaway projects’? Which requirements should I specify in the description?
Now, if I were to guess which role is essential for game development, I would like to think that Programmer and Artist is a priority for me. To be clear, I don’t want a ‘Reddit state of the art’ type of team. I only want a team that is a size of around five to fifteen. I only want a job posting that fits the criteria I need to build up two separate projects. It may take a while for me to organize. Hopefully I’ll get the ball rolling.
I have no idea if anyone is interested in working with me, I think it might be worth asking.
In the meantime, I will be studying creative writing styles and techniques. Yes, I will be tapping in C++.
