Trying to create a distance to scale model

Hi. I’m trying to scale a model by defining a distance between two control points. I’ve first aligned images, then I:

  1. I’ve created two points, they are both defined through feature in 5+ image each.
  2. I create a distance constraint, manually type in the names of control point A and B.
  3. I type the new defined distance in meters and press enter.

What should I now do? I’ve tried both aligning again, and also pressing the Update button. Both operations just removed my carefully aligned ground plane and Align will re-align everything but the distance calculated wrong.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

The issue is that your cameras have geo-location information that is being used and it is messing up the alignment and the distance constraint information.

Select one image in the 1Ds view, and press CTRL+A to select all images. In the Selected inputs panel open the Prior pose settings, and change the Absolute pose value to Unknown.
