Awesome keepem coming!

very good work, can’t wait to see the final

There’s very little contrast in the assets and their material. I’d like to see more.

Looks good even if the lighting is temp

Keep up!

Tropical Village has been submitted to the Unreal Marketplace and should be live within 3-4 weeks

I have one question:

Is there a reason why one would create grass with grass stalks that are arranged in a way, that they are all on one straight line (sometimes they are copy pasted and turned around)? You can see that very clear on the last showce picture.

There are tons of ways to create foliage grass and we have decided to stick to this way. Most of the time grass is on an alpha card so the cheapest way is to have it on a plane (as you have stated above). Most games turn their grass to face the path of the player and “fake” the look of a full scene. As you can see from the finished product, we tend to duplicate and rotate the grass to create a fuller look.

Ah I see, I was just asking because every now and then you see people choose to not have them all on one plane and use transparancy, because that slows performance down
