Monetization Device – In-Island Transactions Device for UEFN
Sell V-Bucks offers on your island without writing purchase logic.
Set up each offer in the Details panel, then connect purchase results to any device using triggers.
WHAT IT DOES
• Unlimited offers on one device. Each offer has its own title, description, short description, image and V-Bucks price, all set in the Details panel.
• Two ways to buy:
– Direct purchase: buttons or triggers open Epic's purchase screen for one offer.
– Store screen: one button opens Epic's store screen with all your offers.
• Editor events for every offer, no Verse needed:
– Purchase Completed
– Purchase Not Completed (cancelled or failed)
– Already Owned – Restricted (region, age or platform)
– Owned At Join (restore unlocks when a player returns)
– Item Removed (refund or consumption)
– Store Opened / Store Closed
• Test modes to check your wiring without spending V-Bucks:
– Test Grant: gives the item through Epic's system, with no payment
– Simulate Success / Simulate Failure: offline, nothing is sent to Epic
• Consumable and permanent items, with optional Auto Consume for currency packs.
• Buy buttons get their label automatically ("VIP Pass - 500 V-Bucks").
BUILT AROUND EPIC'S RULES
• Purchase success comes from Epic's entitlement change event, as Epic recommends, so refunds and store-screen purchases are handled correctly.
• Prices are checked against Epic's limits (50–5000 V-Bucks, multiples of 50), and over-long texts trigger a warning.
• Players who can't receive direct purchase prompts can be sent to the store screen instead.
• Repeated button presses while a purchase screen is open are ignored. • Paid random items are blocked for restricted players.
FOR VERSE USERS
A simple API is included: PurchaseSlot, OpenStore, GetOwnedCount, ConsumeItem, GrantItem and a PurchaseCompletedEvent you can listen to.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
• mk_monetization_device: the device
• mk_catalog.verse: template file for your items, with two examples (a consumable currency pack and a permanent VIP pass) • A step-by-step setup guide
• mk_gold_bank (optional): a ready-made premium currency system that works with the monetization device:
– Turns purchased gold packs into a gold balance that is saved between sessions
– Gives the saved gold back as inventory Gold when the player joins, using an Item Granter
– Packs that weren’t converted (for example, the player left during the purchase) are recovered the next time they join, and each pack can only be counted once
– Optional inventory sync: keeps the player’s inventory Gold and saved balance equal. Gold picked up or spent in-game (pickups, vending machines) can be saved to the balance, or the saved balance can always take priority
– Editor events: Gold Added, Gold Spent, Inventory Restored
– Verse API: GetGold, AddGold, SpendGold, GrantToInventory and a GoldChangedEvent
REQUIREMENTS
• UEFN with in-island transactions available for your island
• Items must be declared in mk_catalog.verse (a short copy-and-edit template). Epic requires every sellable item to exist as a Verse class, so this step can't be done in the editor alone.
• Your island must meet Epic's in-island transaction rules (eligibility, disclosure flags, text limits). The setup guide lists them.
