Triggering an animation


I’m quite a newbie to BPs and animation in Unreal and I’m trying to create what I believe is a simple event. I would like to present a consumer device in the Unreal editor window.
I would like to trigger a simple animation when you click on one of the buttons in the editor window (e.g. select a button and a door pops open). I’ve also tried to achieve this by using a box trigger that activates the animation when the camera enters the trigger box but I cannot get this to work.
Is anyone able to help with some basic BP scripts or steps I can take to set this up? Or does anyone have a link to an easy-to-follow simple tutorial to get me started?
Thank you so much in advance for any help. I think once I have the basic procedure I can hopefully pull it together.
