Is there any way to set the Variant with a MRQ preset, or do I need to change that manually when rendering?
I have a material override in one of my Level Variant presets. I’d like to associate that with a job in the render queue but it seems there is no association. Maybe there is an option in the Movie Render Graph?
There is no variant support in MRG as of yet. You can oveeride a material assignment though in the modifier. You can also run custom events or python as start/end commands. In 5.7 you will be able to control Material Parameter Collections but that won’t be out for a while.
