whats the best way to make a trench in unreal 4 the landscape tool seems to always go on a angle is there another way
You have two options:
- Increase the resolution of your landscape and this will help a bit. Then, use landscape splines as deformers, and use the “Deform landscape to splines” feature to get it to deform. Make sure all your control points are set to low falloff and that the spline widths are small. Keep clicking until it’s good. This will never give you deformation without jaggedness though, but it’s enough to pull it off. Here’s an example:
- For ultimate control, you’re going to want to sculpt your own trenches in ZBrush, Mudbox, or Blender. Then import that Mesh and use it as a landscape. More performance heavy, but the only true way to get the effect you probably want (similar to Battlefield 1).
