I am importing a tree from TreeIt into Unreal Engine as either .fbx or .obj and the leaves are coming square/rectangular. What should I do to make it look like the one in TreeIt
editor?

Hey,
That seems to be simple.
First change your Blend mode to masked. Then plug image Alpha (A) to opacity mask.
I would also suggest to use shading for foliage (better look). But that’s not important.
PS: Why are you using 4.16? It’s 4.22.3 now! It conatins fixes and features that will help anywhere, optimizations etc.
Thanks, I’m new to UE4. I’m using 4.16 because I need to use UnrealCV which only works with 4.16 and older unfortunately.
