Hi. I am trying to create a simple translucent glass mat. But i got a problem, it just doesent work as it should.
Pics below will show the problem.
There is two absolutly indetical doors, both covered with same material.
I’ve just create a new project, import my model, and setup this simple material.
Also, there is an starange behaviour, when object gose of screen, shadows become black, even on selected objects.
What can i do to fix this?
I’m not exactly sure what’s going on in your scene that would cause this. I had a similar sample asset I’ve created in the past that I used and this worked fine. I then downloaded your sample project with this scene and everything checked out on my end.
I tested this in 4.10 from the launcher, not the latest updated 4.10.1 build though.
There is a known issue using Volumetric Translucent Shadows enabled in the settings for the mesh that was reported with UE-20111, where a translucent shadow would not show up unless the mesh was selected, however, that appears to have been resolved with 4.10 and is the opposite of the issue you have.
The second issue I tried that I thought it may be was that you may have had Mesh Distance Fields enabled for your project, but that didn’t have any effect either.
If you have any other thoughts on your setup I’m happy to investigate, but at the moment I’m unable to reproduce the issue on my end.
Perhaps make sure that your engine scalability settings are set to EPIC, you’re using the latest 4.10.1 release, and that your drivers for your GPU are up to date.
