Translucent material make mesh goes gray check board

Iam nub in unreal engine i have ue5 when i import my fbx meshand hook my textures to materials everything work fine except the translucent when i enable opacity or mask mesh goes gray check board. I notice it seems work in sphere of material editor but the mesh is blank. And if i go back to opaque material and apply change mesh appers with textures again. I trid with new mesh with new material same issue

I guess it’s too late but had the similar problem and turned out the mesh was using nanites, disabling nanites on the mesh fixed the issue.
I guess nanites don’t go with translucent materials very well.
