My translucent glass material is receiving shadows ,but they disappear when camera is too close. In fact they turn boxy before they do… why? How can i fix this?
Update:
Looks liek this bug is only when using virtual shadow maps. Old shadow maps the shadow works fine.
Apparently this bug even exists on all the glass materials on the marketplace including the AutomotiveConfiguratior that you can get free from epic(as long as you switch it to use virtual shadow maps instead of regular legacy shadowmaps.
Weird they would overlook this.
r.Shadow.Virtual.TranslucentQuality=1 or r.Shadow.Virtual.TranslucentQuality=2
Seem to help fix the shadows except when i actively am moving away.. its weird.. like if i hold the down key to move the camera backward , as long as im moving in reverse the shadows look broken. When i stop they readjust… so its not a solution.
