Hello, I’m trying to make feathers but I get my material dark.
Masked gives a normal result like it should be but with lower quality of coruse, while I need to use the actual Opacity map with its gradual alpha values. But if I put Translucent Blend mode I obtain darkness. Even separating materials (instancing or not) won’t change anything. I tried changing Lighting mode but no luck as well.
It’s two sided (box ticked, not “real” two sided), normals are facing the correct direction…
Image showing masked vs translucent. I have low skills so I might be missing something obvious but it’s been days I’m trying stuff around with no result, at this point I might have all my attempts confused.
I have no idea why this is happening, but you could try using a completely different texture or color for the base color, unplugging normals, and then hooking in your translucency.
If it STILL darkens after that, then you know it isn’t something wrong with the other textures. If it stops doing it, then you at least can narrow down that the issue is something with your textures.
