I’m following a tutorial series where they started out with blueprints and switched to C++.
The transition is difficult. First I had to download Visual Studio Code and that was a nightmare to set up. Then I have to build and go through live coding compiling every single time I make a code edit? Progress has slowed down considerably and nothing seems to work properly, i matched their code and all but the results are massively different and sometimes broken. It just feels incredibly inefficient and tedious compared to Blueprints. Is this normal? Am doing something wrong?
I think it’s the fact that you are following someone else’s instructions is the part that is slowing you down. If you were coding from scratch on your own, then you would know what you are coding.
It gets faster with time, don’t get discouraged.
