Transition from space > landscape with sequencer?

I am trying to make the transition from space > landscape or landscape > space as smooth as possible, and right now I am exploring the idea of making use of sequencer.

Is it possible or even a good idea to create an animation with sequencer with the spaceship flying through the atmosphere, making use of sequencer to control various actors like lighting, fog and what not all while doing the level streaming? And are there any good ways to teleport or move the pawn from space to landscape while the sequence is playing?

Tried searching around a bit and there is not a lot of info on how to make a good level transition when using level streaming volumes.

If anyone has any suggestions or tutorials I could check out, I would be really grateful.
