Transfer UE asset animations from Manequin to Daz Genesis 8 and exporting it as FBX back to Daz3D.

As the tittle suggests here’s what I want to do in order:

  1. Get Genesis 8 in A-pose exported into UE
  2. Purchase some nice idle animation like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7QCXpSTzs4
  3. Use this method to re-target the animation from UE Mannequin to Genesis 8: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy9aLbZLdeA
  4. Have the animated Genesis 8 exported out as FBX in order to be able to edit said animation in Daz3D to my liking and being able to export it it to Marvelous Designer so I can drape cloth around said animation.

Is something like this remotely possible/feasible?

Though I’m not so sure about step 4.

I managed to get G8 into UE but I have limited success with re targeting bones:

Genesis 8 was introduced and updated from Genesis 3 to allow for better backwards compatibility with G2 and G3 with in Daz3d’s own product line. You would have better success using G3 but rumor has it that Daz3D is working on a version for use with Unreal 4 as I assume that they have done for Unity.

Actually I already managed to successfully re-target Mannequin animations to Genesis 8.

Right now the main problem is being able to export this re-targeted animation back to Daz as an animation that would work with Genesis 8 native rig.

So far I had little success with it.
