Tractor beam with physics

Hi Guys

Not sure this is in the correct section, apologies if not.

Concept: BP actor , has physics/collision/gravity enabled. Want to connect another actor at a set distance like a tractor beam or even a crane arm.

So the beam is rigid, but… i want to add a physics restraint so that the attached actor can swing. So i do so, but if i enable physics on the component i attach to the end (as an attachpoint) the component just falls off and doesnt remain attached to the restraint.

So if i thrust, the sphere (component i added to end of physics restraint) just falls.

So the end result would be , Actor 2 gets attached to the ship (actor 1) and will swing due to physics. So as the ship moves , Actor 2 will react to the movement.

Does this make sense? Hope so, sounded better in my head!

Note i have seen and watched videos of pendulums on youtube but mine doesnt seem to work but not sure if its down to my sceneroot being gravity/physics driven.

thanks @AustrianMunzter im not sure, but if i remember right there is a breakable flag which was set to false, i also set the mass of the 2nd object to around 0.001 just incase , but no joy.

I will however look at this
