Trace by channel does not locate skeletal model surface.

I’ve been trying to rig up a laser for a sentry gun that projects a beam and red dot when a surface is struck and the line trace works as far as tracking a skeletal player model and works if the surface being struck is a static mesh but will clip through a skeletal model as if it was not there.

It does kind of works if traced by object but does not project to the surface beyond the capsule.

Been working on it off and on for a while and at this stage I’m assuming that it is a bug.

That work with the physic asset of the skeleton and the shapes of that.
No idea why no work there.
