Totally confused by Metahuman Identity vs Metahuman Creator

Just getting into Metahuman Animator, and want to use the Metahuman perforamance feature. I can create an identity from video, but if I want that to leverage any of the features of the MetaHuman Creator - hair, skin color, aging, etc - and then re-import it back to my project, I can no longer use it as a MH identity and use the MH Performance editor for animation.

Is there a tutorial, free or paid, that really explains this stuff? The dev docs are a lesson in obfuscation at best.

Yep, that answered all of my questions, I understand it a lot better now. It feels like early days for MetaHuman Animator, meaning, it’s not quite finished. At least I know the workaround for now. Hoping in the future applying the face animation to a MH doesn’t disconnect the head from the body.

You’re welcome, and I agree. It seems we shouldn’t have to go through those extra, non-intuitive steps in order to blend head and body. Hopefully Epic will absorb this feedback and figure something out for future versions.
