Topics for Master's Thesis

Hello everyone,

I am an indie game developer currently pursuing my master’s thesis at my university. I am in the process of selecting a topic for my thesis and will be presenting them to my thesis advisor this week. My areas of interest revolve around graphics, network and multiplayer, optimization, and AI, and I am looking to propose topics that align with these three areas.

Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Gaussian Splatting is The Hot New Thing (again):

That’d cover graphics, optimisation and AI (neural networks).

Thank you for your reply. This seems very interesting but it is a bit too much for the thesis I beleave. The thesis adviser told me to make something simpler where either I come up with a new algorithm for a problem or compare 2 different algorithms in same data to find the optimal one.

How about exploring:

That’d again cover graphics, optimisation and AI (kind of).

And you could tie the above to graphics since it’d be the underlying layer to drive it. Everybody wants a lots of projectiles in their games.

I am throwing UE specific topics at you since we are where we are. These are ripe for exploration, still experimental, lots of improvements to be done.

These seems much better suited for master’s thesis topics I’ll try to get in contact with my thesis adviser and see if they are acceptable. Thank you for helping me out!
