About :
MCGE is an Actor Blueprint at it's core. It can be placed or spawned and is designed to be easy to implement. It combines a decal and particle system and is highly configurable using the included structures (including tooltips to explain what they do).
You don't need any knowledge of particle systems, decals or animation in order to use this to create interesting and unique effects.
The included Demo Level has examples in it's blueprint of how to spawn and animate the effects. There is also a playlist of preview and guide videos linked below and online documentation available.
There are 55 included ground shapes. These are designed to be somewhat universal and suitable for a lot of different game and visual styles. You can also easily use your own textures to suit your game.
The particles will only emit from the shape selected. Simple shapes work best for this, but you could use any texture.
Each effect can be animated using a built in function for ease of use, or with your own timeline for more advanced control.
You can use your own particle systems, although you may want to copy one of the provided ones and modify that to ensure it will work with the parameters and only spawn in the shape.
Despite the name of the pack, this effect does not need to be placed on the ground. it can provide it's own virtual ground to be visible anywhere or at any angle even if there is no surface to project on to. This can be useful to add a floating effect or a halo to your character.
