Summary
Today, completely out of nowhere, my uefn project began getting the validation error “Failed to stage project for upload”. The output log was full of errors, flagging ~50% of the contents within my project, all with the message “Check that the file is of the expected type and not corrupted.” Upon resaving the folders containing the flagged/corrupted uassets, they were all completely erased from my project, and all references to them were obliterated. Previously, I’ve never had any issues with any assets or validation in general, so this is extremely strange to me.
Steps to Reproduce
Unsure how to reproduce. This is an extremely random issue, and I did not do anything to my project previously that could’ve caused this.
Expected Result
You launch a session, and get in just fine assuming you have no actual validation issues.
Observed Result
Tons of uassets within your project break, and get flagged in the output log all with the message “Check that the file is of the expected type and not corrupted.”
(Unfortunately not a guarantee of course, as I do not know how this could be replicated at the moment)
Platform(s)
PC
Additional Notes
There is no consistency in which uassets got corrupted. Several audio files, completely unrelated to one another got corrupted. I have several instances of one material all within the same folder, but only a few of them got corrupted, so it’s extremely hard to trace back what could be going on.
This only appeared to occur after I attempted to launch a session. Beforehand, all assets were just fine to my knowledge.
There is no other info provided in the output log that could help traceback the cause.
