Tomasz Klin - Actor Console

Test changes while your game is running.

Actor Console lets you read values, change actor properties and call functions from Unreal Engine's console. Change a character's speed, check a function's result or watch a value on screen while you play.

Autocomplete helps you write commands. Start typing and choose from a list of actors, variables, components and functions.

Find names and see current values

You do not need to remember exact names. Suggestions show variable types, current values and function parameters, so you can see what is available before running a command.

Change one actor or a whole group

Use one command to change a single actor or all actors of the same class.

  • Slow down one enemy: @Enemy.CharacterMovement.MaxWalkSpeed 300

  • Change every character's speed: ACharacter.CharacterMovement.MaxWalkSpeed 1200

  • Read an actor's location: @Player.GetActorLocation()

  • Move the player: @Player.SetActorLocation(NewLocation=0 0 300)

The console shows values before and after each change. When you call a function, it shows the result.

Watch values and graphs while you play

Display values on screen and see them update as the game runs. Add graphs to see how values change over time. Values and graphs stay visible when you close the console.

Start with a few simple steps

Enable Actor Console, press Play and open the console. No C++ required.

Use the in-game console, the Actor Console editor tab or the Output Log. Unreal's existing console commands work as usual. Full C++ source is included.

Actor Console works in Play In Editor and packaged Debug and Development builds. Outside Play In Editor it only reads, so it never changes your level, Blueprints or assets by accident. The plugin is excluded from Shipping builds.
