Is there a way to assign a hotkey to the Selection Outline? I don’t always need it, and I usually work with it off so that I can clearly see how objects fit together, but sometimes its needed. But it doesn’t look like it’s available in the hotkey section. So I have to go to preferences everytime I want to change it?
Hey there @gldsgns! Sounds like you could use the G
"Game Mode` view hotkey in most occasions. This hides editor widgets and other editor only functionality from view, simulating what it would look like in game. Does this work for your use case?
Unfortunately, it does not. Game mode hides everything, the gizmo, etc.
And it sounds like there is no hotkey for this, maybe I could bind a CVAR to a UMG widget?
So, I went ahead and built an Editor Utility Widget that toggles the Selection Outline. Might sound trivial but its a game changer, and I’ll be building out many more options for the Lighting and Look Dev artists out there who need easier access to viewport settings. Toggling these options with a single click is a game changer - exposure, game mode (without losing selection focus), lighting and preview settings, etc
