TM crash in light tasks and not on heavy usage..

it crashes when:

-open the program

-open a big existing file

-open a light existing file

-reopening after a random crash

-scrolling the library with nothing on the scene

-scrolling the library with a scene loaded

-renaming an object in user library

-zooming (rarely)

while it works perfectly when:

-working on billions of poligons scenes

-import ultra heavy gltf/fbx/obj etcetc

-loading materials with 8K resolution textures

-animating many heavy objects

-rendering literally whatever scene I throw at it at 8K+/2048sample/path tracing 32 bounces etc

I'm getting pretty frustrated, expecially considering that all the above are happening on a:

-i9 13900K

-64gb DDR5

-RTX 4090 with full tdp

->2Tb nvme

I already tried to troubleshoot it myself, increasing tdrdelay, cleaning config folders, updating drivers, opening everytime as Administrator etcetc

I'm developing a PTSD from this, please help

Had the same issues with Twinmotion 2023.1.2 after trying everthing i saw on the forum and the internet nothing happened, so i gave up for few days and one day twinmotion was working fine (i've no idea how or why)!!

But now i bought the Twinmotion 2023.2 and 'im back to that same dark place where nothing is working i'm trying to rich out to twinmotion about it but takes at least 10 days before an aswer from them.

The caziest thing is that i just bought a new computer to work faster

- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080

- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D 12-Core Processor

- RAM 32 GB

I've a less powerfull laptop and twinmotion works just fine on it... that's crazy!!

Yes, very frustrating not knowing if the next action will be your last cause it wil make tm crash.. at the current day i had updated tm 2023.2 and it fixed a couple of issues related to the tendency of crashing when saving. But it's still a problem if for example you want to render something above 4K woth Lumen. I've quitted definitely 2023.1.2

So:

  • Check for GPU updates on GeForce experience
  • Check for tm updates
  • Increase tdrdelay
  • Try not to have other software running at the same time
  • Lower a little the quality in the viewport
  • Ctrl+S before any action that you consider "heavy" (applying 4k+ textures, importing object above 10mb from library, insert an hdri)

i went back to the 2023.1.2 yesterday and the same problem are back on that version to!! I feel stupid because my 2023.1.2 was perfectly working and i don' know why i updated to the 2023.2 because now i'm stuck between 2 versions that i can't work with like i should be.

And just like you i've tried everything on your list, so now i don't really now what to do, maybe check your Manage 3D Settings didn't change anything for me but we never know.

And i've also noticed that when i use twinmotion the GPU of my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 is always at 97% - 100% on my task Manager, but it's way lower on my laptop (i pretty sure it shouldn't be that high).
