TM 2022.2 hangs on startup screen. Suggestions?

Just downloaded and installed 2022.2 over prior version. 2022.2 won't launch. Just hangs on startup screen. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling. Updated graphics drivers for Nvidia 3090. Still no joy.

Unreal 5 runs without problem.

Twin Motion 2022.1.2 runs without issue

110 GB free on boot volume - Windows 10 Pro

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz

128 GB ram

Suggestions?

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about this.

I recommend you close Twinmotion and delete the config file located here:

  • Go to C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Twinmotion 20XX\Config

Then open the Epic Games Launcher and select the Launch icon.

Hope this helps if not please contact us directly by following this link and selecting the installation issues form:

no Config folder found. Uninstalled and reinstalled for 3rd time and it now works.

I have the same issue - here, too, the config folder makes no difference whatsoever.

  1. 2021.1.4 works fine
  2. 2022.2.3 hangs for roughly 20 minutes and then works fine - sometimes it's faster
  3. 2023.1 Preview 1 - has no surpassed its predecessor; but when I tried the beta, that was ok

After wasting hours on this, I used sysinternals process explorer to find the culprit. The "$%=)(23)+# Oculus drivers are responsible. After deleting "C:\Program Files\Oculus" everything works fine.

This started with the switch from Oculus to Meta, since then the headset has been unusable anyway. I deleted the Oculus/Meta software but obviously their uninstaller is just as terrible as the rest of their software stack.
