Time frame to continue attack after animation stops

I working on a dark souls type combat system, and I’ve gotten my attacks set up in montage and am using notifies to continue the attack, which works great but doesn’t allow me to continue the attack after the animation has stopped. I’d like to have a longer time frame to be able to continue my attack, say anytime within .5 seconds after the animation has ended, I have the option to continue the attack. Been banging my head against the wall for a while on this one.
