Tiles Appears based on players distance

I recently came across this video and I was wondering how they achieved this, I tried by myself but wasn’t able to succeed, there are no videos similar to this anywhere.
“Path appears when player moves forward and again disappears when move backward”

Each tile has a collision volume. When the player intersects it, the tile appears with an animation.
