Hi everyone, im struggling with a problem where the thumbnails in my content browser don’t show the content that i downloaded and added to my project. I’ve been searching online for solution but haven’t been able to find one yet. Anyone know how to fix this?

Your concern sounds quite new to me. Would you mind sharing a few images of what you are seeing?
In the meantime, I find that there is a check box called “Real-time thumbnails” you can tinker with.

I have uploaded an image of how the content is showing.
I just see basic images and not what the content really is.
After i have put something in my viewport it then shows up in the content browser thumbnail as well, most of the time.
The Real-Time Thumbnails is checked.
I feel like i’m just missing a simple step but i can’t seem to find it.
Is this enough information to see what the problem might be or do you need me to share more?

Thank you this has been very helpfull. It seems something went wrong with saving my project. The content wasn’t in the same location as the project it self. I’m not sure where it went wrong but i opened a new project and made sure it is in the right location and that the content will be saved under the same map. Thumbnails are showing their content now so all is good :)!
jokes on me, after having closed my project and opened it again, i still have the same problem again
when i drag it into my scene it will show in the content browser but before that it doesnt.
sorry i forgot to directly respond to your question here. I did have nonstandard letters in my username, but not anymore. The problem still remains the same though

Now I’m wondering if the thumbnails have a cached image that is still associated with your old username. (And dragging them into the scene refreshes/updates the path?)
Do you also have this problem on a newly-created project?

When i open a new project and add anoter item from the quixel content it has the same problem. However one of the items/thumbnails is showing, but not all.
It also happens that some items dont have the textures attached to the mesh when i put them in the scene.

Now I’m wondering if this problem is only happening on imported MegaScans assets. Is that the case? (It looks like you have ‘StarterContent’ in your new project, take a look there)
As for the textures not being on the meshes it certainly might be related, If you open + compile the Material Instance (and Master Material) does that resolve it? Also check the texture references in the Material Instance.

Thank you. The starter content is showing. i also downloaded megascan content directly from the Epic Games library and that does show in the content browser. Im wondering if it is maybe just the quixel content that is bugging. In my vault it says there is an update available for Quixel Bridge but when i click ‘install to engine’ it says i cannot install this plugin as it is already installed to all compatible engines.
Select all. Right Click. Asset Actions. Validate Assets.
