Third Person Controls with Twin Stick and Target Cursor Aiming is no longer locked to Z rotation

I am making an experience of a top down action shooter game. We use a Fixed Angle Camera to have a bird’s eye view from above and the Third Person Controls to handle movement and shooting. We prefer to use “Twin Stick” for the Facing Direction option and “Target Cursor” for Twin Stick Mouse Aim Mode option. Before today’s update, this mode kept the aiming of the player locked to only rotate along their z axis, keeping them aiming and shooting along the horizontal plane. This matched the gameplay we want, so if you’re aiming your cursor in the general angle toward the enemy, you would shoot at the enemy.

After today’s update, the player now rotates in the other angles also, trying to point directly at whatever the target cursor is pointing at. Meaning if the player has the cursor pointing at the ground, angled at the enemy but located between the player and the enemy, then when the player shoots, they shoot at and hit the ground, not shooting at the enemy at all.

If this is the new intended function of the “Target Cursor”, then can we get an option added to the Third Person Controls device that still locks the players shooting angle to only rotate along the Z rotation?

@HSL_AlexW Thank you for your feedback. While I cannot guarantee a response, I can confirm that this has been forwarded to the appropriate team.
