I thought of something for third person view. Most of the time a third person camera can really get annoying for the player to deal with, but I found something cool in games like MGS4 and Mario 64.
If the camera goes close enough to the player, the player becomes translucent to the camera.
I think it would be extremely helpful for other creators to be using this kind of idea instead of landing into the same camera issues that are even found in Warframe, which was made twenty years after Super Mario 64 came out. It might seem lazy but in practice it’s nearly impossible to make camera AI that wouldn’t ever block the player’s view otherwise.
It’s rather common for a third person game to have bad camera angles. It would be nice to abolish this as much as possible.
Does anyone know how to do this? I’d love a tutorial.
