Crazy that as a C4D user we are saying the exact same thing. Turns out by catering for everyone, you end up catering for no one.
The fact that they removed everything working prior for this broken mess without any way to rollback is such an out of touch move. No software company that I know of has ever done that, treating it like a video game rather than the professional tool it was.
