Well, yes, I became aware of this possibility. There are people who download our products for free by using software that hacks the system, bypassing it and allowing them to download our otherwise paid products for free.
I’d like to clarify that this happened on Sketchfab, and I’m not sure if, now that the download button has been removed, they’ll still be able to do it.
I wonder if this new platform was also created for this reason – to protect us and our products? I hope so.
Otherwise, I hope serious measures are taken regarding this.
Hey there @PizzaAndGames! Are you referring to the viewer issues? Displaying any object in a 3D viewer means there is some way to extract the information even if obfuscated, since the browser needs to know where to place the vertexes in your viewer and that is hosted within the browser itself. There are steps in place to make it harder to do, but short of disabling the 3D preview or streaming in an image stream with controls. It’s the same as when it’s introduced to a game, the models need to be read to visualize so they can be ripped, even if difficult.
