There's big push for the film industry but we need Quad mesh support

Quad mesh is better for animation with deformations, we need this for bigger creatures with a lot of fur using Haircards. Is there any reason why we can’t have this? We are using Ornatrix for Fur and hair creation, the developers would support quads and be more compatible with the I/O of other DCC’s if you were to make this happen.

Video cards animate triangles, not quads. That’s the main roadblock here, I think :slight_smile:

All quads are tris under the hood but they process faster as tris so I’m thinking it’s just how UE initially setup their engine to have high game performance. UE is tapping into the film industry and vice versa. Versatility should be pinnacle.
