Hi everyone. I’m a gameplay programmer and the developer of TheCodeDiff.
When a Blueprint changes, git and Perforce only see a binary file. TheCodeDiff reads .uasset and .umap files directly and shows what changed, with Blueprint and Material graphs drawn as graphs, without opening Unreal Editor.
For Unreal projects (Pro):
• Blueprint and Material graph diffs, plus a property level diff for any .uasset or .umap
• Automatic merge of conflicted .uasset and .umap files: changes only one side made are merged in, and changes both sides made differently are left for you to pick
• AI review that includes your asset changes
• UE4 and UE5 up to 5.7, on git and Perforce
The client itself is free with no time limit:
• git: commit graph, hunk staging, interactive rebase, blame and file history, Git LFS and file locks
• Perforce: streams and classic depots, sync with a preview, changelists and shelves, three-way resolve, your teammates’ locks, server administration, with p4 bundled
• AI code review with your own keys, and local secret detection
• A check of your project’s Perforce setup for Unreal files, and a warning before a sync if Unreal Editor is running
Windows, Mac and Linux. Pro has a 14 day trial, no sign up.
I’d really like feedback from anyone working on Unreal projects with Perforce or Git LFS.
