My only pet peeve so far with the game is that, for a game that has LOADS of potions to use, you only get 2 quickslots for potions. This is also shared with food. It would be nice to be able to have more slots, or be able to set the 2 slots from a selection of 10 or so from the quick menu. I’m sure I’d find myself using potions a lot more if that were the case. Same thing goes for oils since they can’t be used in combat. Either I see the enemy before hand and hit pause to apply it or I just forget.

As a whole I loved it, great game. My peeves were the main story dragged a bit, I think there is such a thing as “too big”, the controls are a little clunky. Just minor things really…
The Witcher Gerald as I name him must have a get in your pants sign, because how he does so well must be a miracle.
I couldn’t leave the dev hat a home though I was jotting notes about 25% of the time :D.

I really don’t have a desire to play Witcher 3 after my experiences with 1 & 2, but I am willing to give anything a shot. I don’t mind long exposition filled cut-scenes, and hell, I am not even a stickler for story - I played FF7 all the way through, that should say enough. The story-craft in Witcher is just bad, and that’s a shame, I really wanted to like it. I can give a thorough critique tomorrow when it isn’t 4AM.

I loved the first 2, so I’m entirely biased (totally disagree with you about the story in those games, they have some of the best story telling I’ve ever encountered in a game), however generally speaking even those who didn’t like the first 2 games are enjoying this a great deal. Check out the sub-reddit for a flavour of reactions, often from people who didn’t like the earlier games ://www.reddit/r/witcher/
I think it’s one of the greatest games ever made. In 10 years people will talk about The Witcher 3, the way people now talk about Baldurs Gate.
For those on PC and using Keyboard and Mouse, make sure to turn on mouse hardware acceleration. I was forced to use a controller until I did that and it made movement and combat so much better with KB&M.
Am I right that they dont use any shadows for the small vegetation like grass, flowers,… or is it just a bug in my version?
