Hello, Welcome to the Fourms.
Sometimes you might just need to move the water actor slightly for it to refresh in-editor.
Otherwise, I’ve seen @Hardcawcanary do a lot of water systems troubleshooting. They might have some ideas of things to check.
Hey AZM么, Astrotronic,
I managed to get my head around Oceans, but still a little rough on the Rivers, so I welcome the opportunity to try and understand them better.
Sometimes there’s a bit of conflict when a few different waterbodies get together,
I assume from your topic, you placed the river first and then it went funny when you added the lake or manipulated it’s spline ?
Have you got Affects Landscape turned on with the river ?
Are you using an Ocean ?
How many Waterzones have you got in your outliner ?
I started my project about 7 months ago and the problem of disappearing water was never present. Everything was perfect. For a short while, I don’t know what I did, the water disappeared and the river became a hole. I soon learned that the problem was from the water district, and that the water was returning, but the hole in the river remained. My problem became the river hole.
1-No, the problem happened recently, and I made water at the beginning of the project
2-i don’t Understand
3-No, i just use Lake and River
4-i don’t Understand
Oh !! that is such a touchy setting,
Sorry I forgot about that, turn it back on…
Now I remember why I don’t use affects landscape, I prefer sculpting it instead of using the terrain settings.
I have a play with it a bit more and see if I can get it to do whats happening to you, it does look like its gone a bit corrupted or something.
Can you post a pic of your river Terrain Curve and Water Heightmap Settings ?
sorry, that picture is not clear.
this more clear.
Sorry I couldn’t reply sooner.
Sometimes when I make a change it doesn’t show up, so I cut it and paste it back into the Outliner to see what changes happened. Sometimes even that doesn’t update the changes made.
So I guess when you made changes, it didn’t properly show up while doing it, then when you came back later on and opened up the map the changes showed up, leaving you ???
Keep messing around with it but after a change, cut it and paste it back in to see what you just changed, try moving a few nodes around as well.
