Paid Tutorials in Marketplace which use the embedded in Unreal Engine Editor.
While the tutorials which are available currently on and within the Unreal Engine are great, the next stage from here would be to incentivise tutorial writer to create tutorials which can be used within the Unreal Engine Editor.
Being able to follow along and have prompts within the Unreal Engine would help new comers to the engine as they can be directed step by step.

I want to reference my improvements i suggested inforums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?90666-Launcher-ideas-Wishlist&highlight=wishlist
"UE Launcher ideas: Personal Wishlist for Marketplace with social micro funding
I can’t afford to purchase all of the Marketplace items i would like to use in my game at once as i am a part time game developer like i assume more than a fair share of us are. Aside from just selfishly allowing me to be lazy about remembering the items i had once wanted to purchase (getting harder with the amount of content growing), Social sharing of wishlists means friends and family who know you’re passionatly digging into making a game can give you a motivational bump or present anytime motivating us to keep pushing forward as well as to talk about our project and wishlist like a mini crowdfunding campaign. People who aren’t good at asking for help or running a funding campaign or dont think they are significant enough to warrant one can still feel that inspirational excitement of someone saying “that sounds cool, i would buy that”
Please revise the marketplace to allow us to save wishlists of MarketPlace content.
Please allow us to share these lists to social networks (publicly available to everyone)
Please allow strangers to purchase wishlist items directly into my Epic account (any item they choose or just the next item in my ranked wishlist)
Please allow them to provide personal information or do it anonymously
and if you really want to support the idea of micro-crowdfunding (i just made that up) allow us wishlisters to offer incentives like i will run a build right now or send the last one that didnt crash flaws and all so you can instantly see where i’m at (build an NDA covering incentives specifically into the purchase Terms and Conditions)
Note for Epic to prioritize request:
would effectively turn us small developers trying to become bigger developers into a stream of revenue. I become a fanatical promoter of Epic and UE4. Even if I’m already in love with the engine myself, I now have a reason to talk about it every i get so my friends family and strangers understand what i mean when i talk about sharing my wishlist of assets for my awesome game project. How many users do you have that are not professional developers who will release a finish product or are amazing professionals but still wont be releasing anything in the near future? creates microgoals for the developer because even if you aren’t finishing a cause its lacking polish or doing anything major or you want to show off a totally non functional but beautiful start to a map when you get excited you have a reason to post it on your social networks you’re advertising a peek at your unfinished but runnable build to people with sub alpha early access expectations. sharing of what would normally be internal enthusiasm its a very powerful motivator to keep at it and push forward, to share openly and deeply the development process thus engaging a sense of community in those who have been with you from the beginning, resulting in more of us devs growing to release maturity and investing deeply in UE4 and your brand, probably for life.
“But Garza no ones going to pay 25 bucks (avg low price asset) for a broken game just to see how your unfinished is “almost” ready or just looks funny.”
well maybe the broken game wont be the whole reason but i bet i could get a dollar from 25 people across all of my social uh i would just treat it like a game, Then again maybe Mom will do it because she loves me and thinks its cute that im campaigning so hard. Of course the marketplace explodes in sales making submitting content to the marketplace that much more profitable and motivating content producers to get more assets online for us. Inspiration. Motivation. Community building. Cash. Assets. Good people doing good things. is an ethical revenue stream so it is aligned with your generous decision to make the engine free as a means to set us free. the development overhead for the features requested are ridiculously low especially in comparison to the potential return in both sales and inspiring your community in a new way. it is now also offically a request from a long time user going back to UDK3 and the pay days of UE4.
At the very least can i save a wishlist or have access to an export of marketplace data so i can build myself?
Thank you again for setting it and us free. Lets take it to the next level and get sizable chunk of our community the tools to succeed and stay driven so they make it to developer maturety.

Feedback for Epic
Something needs to be done to fix constant problem of content not working for the current version of the Engine. It’s very annoying that content that was promised to work with UE4 is not compatible again because a new version of the software is out. is the third time I’ve had happen with some of my content (IE 4.8, 4.9 and now 4.10).

I’m not working for Epic, but I’m a seller on the marketplace. The way the update process works now is that we get 10 days to make sure our assets are compatible with the latest version (or to create an update for them that makes them compatible), so you should be able to get access to all your purchases in the latest version at most two weeks after it’s released. I don’t really see how it could feasibly be done otherwise… with the sheer amount of packs that are available on the marketplace by now, can’t really be expected to update them all themselves - and any other options that come to mind would also have unconscionable side-. Making sellers use the preview releases to ensure compatibility for example seems like a big can of worms, because those are often not complete and not entirely stable. And giving sellers earlier access to new releases also wouldn’t work, because all that would mean is that everyone else would get them later.
All said, I think it’s reasonable to expect sellers to update their packages in a relatively short period of time, the way it’s done now. If you’re working in a production environment, you’re unlikely to upgrade to the latest engine version immediately anyways! And things like the Substance plugin for example are usually updated just a day or two after a new release!

We had to update everything manually before 4.10 and it takes time to update every project manually, now it’s automated if content is not broken
[= ;419232]
Hi all! As a reminder – if you test your content with 4.10 and nothing is broken, you don’t have to send us any files. Just email us at and tell us you tested them and they work, and we can quickly update the compatibility. I’ve already done about 8 of those today, one of them less than a minute after being requested.
Thanks!

Everything will be much smoother now

Well, I hope your right. I’m a bit frustrated because about 1/3 of my purchases where never upgraded to work with 4.9 and now here’s 4.10. So I don’t expect to be purchasing much more because what good is content that you can’t use because the engine got upgraded but not the purchased content?

If you see packs that still aren’t 4.9 compatible, contact at and let them know so they can see if it’s still in the queue, or hasn’t been sent in yet. We have 10 days from an update’s release to provide confirmation of compatibility or the necessary updated files.

So, I took your suggestion and sent the list to the marketplace support team. As it turned out as of today, of the 82 items in my library some 15 of them did not support 4.9. So that’s 18% of my entire library!

Please note, I’m not complaining about 4.10. I’m talking about assets that still aren’t up to the 4.9 standard as of today (11/13/2015). Now we are already on the 4.9.2 standard so how much more time do you need? is WAY beyond the 10 day limit.

Please note that the seller himself may have already submitted the update weeks ago and it could be that it just isnt through the review process yet. I know that the first person to be at is usually the seller, but in that case we didnt have that much influence at the time it takes to have the updates live. Please consider the next time before asking the sellers how much time they need for the update, cause as said they may have well sent their update within a few days.
Additionally, regarding the 15 Assets you have that are not 4.9 compatible; Did you actually try them in 4.9 and saw that they are not working or did you just look at the “supported versions” tags? I mean, if they are still working and just not flagged as compatible, it may be a bit inconvinient, but still it should be easy enough just creating a new 4.8 project with them and converting it to 4.9.
Thanks for your understanding.
Cheers,
I’m talking about the supported version tags. I mean one of these things is a sound package so how that could NOT be compatible is beyond me. I’m just frustrated with the process where I have to install the things in a dead 4.8 project in order to migrate then to 4.9. And now with 4.10 out, I’m wondering if I have to convert it from 4.8 to 4.9, 4.9 to 4.10. In addition, I have to keep version of the 4.8 engine around just for silly migration step. And that’s a fair chuck of space on the hard drive.
Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m just trying to get thing moving along as is just going to get worse as we move to UE 4.11, 4.12 and 4.13 next year.

Well, you’re keep repeating problem again and again so I’ll try to elaborate my answer:
Before 4.9 there were no update policy causing problems you’re describing.
After 4.9 we got Update Policy saying update it within 45 days or content will be removed. However whole process was done manually by Content creators AND . 450+ projects were updated manually. Just imagine how time consuming it is. And yes, is not elevate the problem you’re describing.
With 4.10 update we got new Update policy - we have only 10 days to react and the update process is automated now. If project is compatible with newer version, Content creator just send “Yes” mail to and project will be automatically upgraded to newer version.
So basically the solution to your problem has been released a couple of days ago. If 4.8 projects are compatible with 4.10 they will be updated as well as for newer versions, but if content creator abandoned his project then I doubt Epic can do anything else than remove it from Marketplace.

Things are already moving and solution was “released” like a couple of days ago sooo…
OK . I didn’t understand what the new marketplace process was. So everything should be updated by 11/24/2015 at the latest unless I purchased something from a vendor who no longer wishes to support his/her content.
I Think its really annoying that we can’t browse 99% of the content because all we can see is the FEATURED CONTENT!!!
Grant access to the server for content authors to update it to the newest versions. They are loosing out on sales because the content isn’t compatible with the latest engine. I notice that most of the items on the marketplace aren’t up to date which is discouraging for both the developers and users. I’m sure its a drag for those dealing with the backlog of requests. It would be more efficient. Much like WordPress plugin authors.
Actually, I landed here looking for the update for Substance for 4.10.0 but the the only thing I can find is the GitHub Link. Which I don’t get. Why not just on the fronted of the store? Such a nice app by Epic but outdated constantly.
I just wanted to say that i just submitted my first pack ever!
After i read all the rules guidence and set my pack up for quality check i submitted the thing :3
Sadly only 5 pictures are allowed :c but thats ok :3
I just hope my work was good enough since i never done that before D:
