I personally would create a own blog/website for such kind of stuff -> looks more professional
Should it be a dev blog or more like an ordinary one? -> when you want to do something like a dev blog, take a look at this game: ://stillalive-.com/blog/ They do it pretty good.
Thank you for the feedback. Will be looking to add pictures of designs in our next blog post, as well as upload our logo (Which helps). having 202 views just over the weekend isn’t too bad.
@anonymous_user_9c39f750 Kempyy … you should also consider not center aligning everything. It makes it extremely difficult to read. As mentioned, using a blog orientated site (like Tumblr) or doing your own might be more beneficial to you.
Sounds like a project I’m working on called Crying Jean.
Heh heh, just kidding
Seriously though, couple of pointers from a web guy of many years:
Wordpress
Just in case you didn’t know, you can get a free wordpress blog at wordpress, it’ll be cleaner than the one at mmorpg
Less talk, more action
The internet is teeming with people who like to write long screeds of text talking about what they are going to do in their cool new awesome game without showing any evidence that they actually know what they’re talking about - and no, having played lots of games doesn’t count
It’s even possible that it’s a stage we all go through when we first get interested in this sort of stuff (I know I did). Problem is, after you’ve done a bunch of stuff and look back at what you thought and said at the start it seems very disconnected from the actual reality of what doing game dev stuff is actually like.
So as much as it might feel exciting to throw yourself out there and talk about all your ideas, resist the temptation! First: Make stuff. Then talk
Just to be clear, none of the above is supposed to make you feel like you can’t do it! If you want to make an mmorpg, go for it
Just be aware, once you actually start digging in, you’ll very quickly find out how very different it is from what you thought it would be.
White text on black background, my eyes!.. its burning my eyes!!!
With almost all webpages you have a matter of seconds before your visitors get bored, annoyed, loose interest and click away.
Less is more for any landing page. The text is hard to read due to alignment and color choices, and the page overall is a little crowded.
Ads can help your site by providing a little extra income, but they are just as effective at turning away readers if there’s too many of them on any single page.
Jokes aside, best of luck with your project, i’ll check back in later to see how you’re getting on.
