The UE-Polaris Game has crashed and will close - Fatal error!

Hi, every time I launch Tekken 8, i receive this fatal error message. (i have also tried other UE5 games such as Layers of Fear with no success).

The problem started today after I installed my new graphics card RTX 4070. I first ran DDU in safe mode to wipe all AMD drivers, then physically installed the new GPU with the newest drivers available.

Here are the things I have tried:

  • Windows Safe Mode DDU Reinstalled Nvidia drivers again
  • Ran the game with Windows 8 Windows 7 compatibility mode
  • Ran as admin (both the Tekken 8 and Polaris files)
  • Verified file integrity on steam
  • Applied -sm5 -dx12 in the Steam game properties launch options
  • Reinstalled the game
  • Reinstalled Windows (keep data)
  • Disabled all overlays (steam, discord, nvidia)
  • Removed GPU undervolt/overclock
  • Set GPU as default in Nvidia Control Panel
  • Deleted Tekken 8 Cache from %Appdata%
  • Deleted temp files
  • Tried using only 1 monitor instead of 2
  • Updated BIOS
  • Disabled Hyperthreading in BIOS
  • Disabled Virtualization in BIOS
  • Installed various C++ files
    (vcredist2015, 2013, 2012, 2010, 2008, 2005, x86 & x64)
  • Reinstalled DirectX
  • Turned on and off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (in Windows display settings)
  • Turned on and off Optimisations for windowed games (in Windows display settings)
  • Set up TdrDelay in the registry editor (tried set to 0, set to 10, tried deleting it)

I am unable to get through the loading screen for more than 5 seconds before the game crashes, so I haven’t been able to set the game to borderless or windowed mode.

I have spent over four hours restarting my computer more than 30 times.

It makes me very sad that I bought a new graphics card, only to find that I will never be able to play an Unreal Engine 5 game :frowning:
