The Theseus Ship - short movie

The Ship of Theseus – releasing July 7 on YouTube

All made in realtime with Lumen.

We’re thrilled to announce the release of our short film The Ship of Theseus, created collectively with:
• Valentin Le Nost – directing and writing
• Malo Gouézec – cinematography and CGI effects
• Ramsès Ulysse – sound composition, narration, and mixing

The Ship of Theseus portrays the routine of a character caught in a system that strives to endure, even as its foundations collapse.
From decontaminators to the white blood cells of our immune systems, we are constantly battling monsters of our own making — or perhaps it is creation itself that, disturbingly, holds the most accurate reflection of our humanity.

We can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
It’s a beginning — hopefully the first of many collaborations.

As the film was originally made for an art exhibition in Paris, the narration is in French — but we hope you’ll still enjoy the atmosphere. An English version may be released in the future.

Hello @Malo-Gouezec ! Welcome to posting with us here on the forums!

I’m thoroughly excited about this release! I’ll certainly have my notifications on. I have so many questions I want to ask, but I will hold most of them until the release. The one I am most curious about currently is how long this took for you all to make?

Hey there @Malo-Gouezec,

Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far

I think the most captivating part of this project is your use of color. The world itself is often a bit duller but the focal point of the scene is contrasted with this wildly vibrant red. I’ve never thought of telling a story just through the use of color but you’ve definitely managed it  If you don’t mind me asking, was there a particular part of the film that you enjoyed the most?
