The textures on my models disappear when I export them from Unreal to .fbx

Hi,

I am very new to Unreal and I am having an issue which I cannot solve.
I made my models in Blender, then textured them in Unreal. Is it possible to export my textured models out of Unreal into .fbx and keep the applied textures? Every time I export the model, the mesh is fine but the textures do not stick. I have been exporting the model by selecting ‘asset actions’ then ‘export’ and kept the default settings, but the textures do not come through. The model has 2 image textures which were not created in unreal, which are correctly exporting.
So my question is, is there a way to export my model with the texture correctly applied? Or have I gone wrong in the actual texture creation?
Thanks in advance! :slightly_smiling_face:

  • Settings when exporting model from Unreal

  • Material in Unreal

  • Completed model with correct textures in Unreal

  • Exported model (.fbx) with the Unreal made texture gone

  • Image textures (not made in Unreal) still applied

You need to import the textures and setup the materials in UE.

It will not create them for you. Only the actual material ID’s / slots.
