The sequencer recorder crashes thye engine whenever i try to open the video recorded

The title says it all, i can record cinematics with sequencer and playu and render out the videos just fine, but when i try to use the actual in game recorder, it will record the video, but when i try to open the recorded video in the engine for editing, the engine immediately crashes. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

im getting a similar crash, I hit window>take recorder, and then unreal freezes for a second and then crashes
