The Sanctuary - Real Time Environment - Unreal Engine 5

Hey people,
This is the first time posting on the forums!
I am David, currently studying Game Art at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
A few days ago, I made a this Real Time Environment Art project called ‘The Sanctuary’ - where a race of aliens took over and destroyed human culture and society retaining some infrastructure, but also making their own. A human militia group took over this alley and recaptured it from the aliens and are using it as a bastion and final stand if they are to ever come back.

I created this project using 3ds max, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Quixel Megascans and presented it in Unreal Engine 5.
I am always open to feedback and critique - if you want to tell me what you like about the project, what you would change or done differently if you were me, I would love to hear your thoughts on this project.
Furthermore, it gave me an opportunity to experiment with new features I have never touched before, such as creating custom LUTs for my scene, as well as try making shaders.

Thanks for taking the time to read this - here is a link to the post on my Artstation.

Greetings @DHyde99 !

Welcome to the amazing Unreal Engine community! :medal_sports: (I couldn’t help but think of American actor David Hyde Pierce after seeing your name. LOL!)

Thank you for sharing your art “The Sanctuary” with us! I thoroughly enjoyed learning the inspired backstory behind the art. I can imagine a small guerilla faction guarding and protecting this alley, how dangerous the alien species might be, how the faction won back the territory, and all of the struggles for survival.

Your emissive and reflections look great! My favorite screenshot is the very first one, where the reflections are front and center in full display. The third screenshot’s frame of reference forces the viewer to the left due to the intensity of the white light emissive.

I really appreciate you including your ArtStation page, where we get to see even more cool screenshots and an awesome video flythrough. It was refreshing to see your set in motion. A video does so much to detail a set in ways that screenshots could never. Very impressive!

How did you come up with the alien font?

Superb scene
