I am trying to make a custom animated door in Twinmotion, when i place a rotator i can’t move it anymore after i place it, i have to make a new one to get a new pivit because its (for as far i know) impossible to change the point of origin after placement. I know there is an option for the pivot editor, but sadly that doesn’t work. Also i would like to be able to choose a point from where the trigger distance is calculated, because i can see where the origin of the trigger point is but im unable to change it. If anyone has any idea’s it would be much appreciated.
If you go to the animator properties, there is a first set of tools. One is dedicated to pausing the animation so that the pivot center of the rotator can be placed correctly.
i tried this, and i can change the location of the pivit point. the problem is that when i start the animation again, the pivit point didn’t change while it clearly is in a different location. it will always choose the place where the origin of the rotator is placed.
yes, the rotator will always be the rotation origin.
can you send a screenshot of your scene, I don’t really understand the relationship between your object and pivot
Basically my question is, if I can separate the pivit point and the origin of the trigger point. Because I want a door to open when I come close to the right side of the door, but the door hinge is on the left side. Now this is not possible because the pivit point and the origin of the rotator is in the same location. I only want the door to open when I approach from the right side. Also a good suggestion would be to be able to have different triggers, like a key press or a button you can place.
not realy. you cannot separate the volume trigger from the object.
A workaround would be to use configurations in 2025.1 version.
there, you can trigger the doors in a configuration, using the UI trigger system
something like what is described here:
