The percentage of players we aim for is absurd.

I saw the announcement that Fortnite is bringing back Chapter 1 with seasonal updates and more. This got me thinking: what is really expected of island creators? Right now, 99% of us have no players on our islands, while Epic Games, with all its resources, is looking to further increase its percentage of the player pool and essentially compete against us.

Isn’t this a bit counterproductive? Why build an ecosystem just to compete with the creators that make it up? It’s absurd. I’m already struggling to finish my 1v1 map, and now I have to face Epic itself (I say this sarcastically… or maybe not) :joy:

While I agree that the 40% going to epic is kinda bad, More players in fortnite would also mean more players in creative too, Keep in mind creators/epic gets paid by 40% of the amount of money fortnite makes. So generally speaking more fortnite players = more earnings but yea a lot of people will play br so it has both pro’s and cons

I agree, and as a Fortnite player, I’m excited about the idea of former players returning to the game. My only concern is that with more official modes available, players might be less inclined to explore alternative islands. That said, I’m thrilled to see Fortnite doing well, and I have no interest in expressing any negativity towards the game or the company.

Fortnite is there to attract the BR crowd. I think creative is a way for fortnite to attract players from outside the box, right now the bulk of players are stuck addicted to the standard red/blue, obby etc maps, creators who want to work outside the box suffer from a lack of players, so we have to market ourselves and draw in players who would not normally play fortnite…which is a bit hard on solo creators too busy building, staying up to date with new UEFN features and maybe trying to learn verse, to then focus on how to market our idea to the general public…drowning…all while doing it in our limited spare time because it has to be seen as a hobby because we need to have day jobs or some other income source.
