I scanned a large scene using about 13,000 photos. When I aligned all 13,000 photos at once, the result was a large number of fragmented components. So I switched to aligning the photos region by region, and then merged the individual regions. During this process, I noticed an issue: each region alone might contain over 8 million point cloud points, but after merging all regions together, the total point cloud count did not increase accordingly. Moreover, in the merged model, many of the image connections have only single-digit tie points. If I want to ensure that the point cloud count increases rather than decreases after merging, what should I do?
Hi, which version of RealityScan are you using?
What are your merging steps? What are your alignment settings Are you showing the cameras in the component or inputs?
How the aligned component does look with the naked eye? Have you tried to create a model from the alignment? But some decrease of the sparse point cloud number is expected.
